Highlights:

Mountain lake, Condor observation, View to El Plomo Glacier 5400m, uncomplicated 4300 m summit, high Andes landscape, many amazing views to the Andes Range and Santiago.

Description:

We start our trekking at about 3500 m just below the small Laguna del Franciscano above the last ski lifts form La Parva ski centre. First we have to gain 200 m altitude in a steep climb. Afterwards the trail is winding and going sometimes down, but mostly climbing slowly heading the summit of the La Parva. Our trail leaves this summit of 3880 m on a side trail and runs forward steadily upwards to the Pintor peak. In the back we always see the impressing Glacier of El Plomo (5400 m) the highest summit of this area. After 2,5 to 3 hours walking we reach the windy 4300 m high peek of the in many colours shining Pintor (translated the Paintor), which thanks us with amazing views to the Andes Range and Santiago.
